Summer heat in Leipers Fork, TN

The Blackwood family has been really busy the last few weeks. We've had three weeks of Vacation Bible School from KY to TN and now Luke, our eleven yr old, is at a camp in Chattanooga, TN. We have Jesse, 8, and Leah, 6, at home with us. We have been busier than a one-arm paper hanger! And one more VBS to go at our home church at Grassland Heights Bapt. Church. That starts next Sunday.
We are working on vocals for the next Imperials project this summer. We hope to have it our by January.
I have had more talks with my doctor about my health and I've not met her yet. We've just done blood work here and sent her the results. She has asked for samples and has made a long distance evaluation of my problems. The insomnia has been a long term problem and all this testing is to see what's wrong. She now thinks it's hypothyroidism.
She has me on a series of medications, none of which are prescriptions. I have tried the sleeping pills for a number of years and I don't seem to get much relief. Thanks for your prayers. If you're interested, you can google it to see my symptoms. I was having some voice problems but went to the doctor about that and he said my vocal cords looked great. He said I didn't look so good though. That hurt but I knew he meant it in Christian love. I now read that hoarseness is an early symptom of hypothyroidism. I really just want a good night's sleep and awaken like I actually rested during the night. That's my goal and my prayer. Thanks for your prayers for me on this. It has become a real spiritual struggle and I'm sure Satan is trying to discourage me.

This is for those who were Andrus, Blackwood & Co fans back in the 70's and 80's. Sherman and I met in the Imperials in 1971 and we were there together for five years. After the Imperials, we joined together to sing and had a number of hits back then. One in particular, Soldier of the Light, entered the Contemporary Christian Music charts at #1 and stayed there six months! The other day I found a video of that song. Until recently, we had no song on Youtube because I couldn't find anything. Now it's there for all to see. I also found The Captain & Me and it's on Youtube also. You'll be amused at how much hair I had and how skinny I was. Also, Sherman actually had hair back then, lots of it! Check it out and let me know what you think. A man went to church one night to hear the visiting faith healer preach. At the close of the service, he went forward. The evangelist asked, "What are you here for?"
