A lazy summer Saturday in June

Today is Saturday, June 13, 2009. I have been busy singing. On the last weekend of May I was in Albuquerque, NM for a Sunday with Jerry Carlsen at Temple Baptist Church in the am and with Rev and Mrs Tom Schenk at First Baptist, Moriarty, NM in the evening for a concert. Jerry is the minister of music and what a great church Temple Baptist Church is. Jerry and his wife and parents took me out Sunday after church and then drove me to Moriarty for Sunday evening. Then took me out after church and back to the hotel. What a nice family and they seemed to enjoy being with me and just talking. I'm pretty good at that.
Tom and Diane Schenk pastor the First Baptist Church in Moriarty and this was my second visit to their church. They are always so kind and receptive to my music. Thank you Tom and Diane Schenk.
Since that weekend, I've had one day in the studio working on Imperials songs. We've got a long way to go but you have to start to ever get there. I finished one lead vocal and we started a medley that is now half done. Thanks for your prayers on this. I always give it everything I've got. I hope it shows.
Last weekend, we went to St Louis, visiting the zoo, the Arch, and Grants Farm. We had a great time. I have photos up if you care to look. Tomorrow I am subbing for our min. of music at Grassland Heights Baptist Church, Adam Smith, who's grandfather died. He asked me to fill in. Next Sunday, I will be singing in the am at Leiper's Fork United Methodist Church. What a wonderful group of people and we are looking forward to it. That will be Father's Day.

The couple had been debating the purchase of a new auto for weeks. He wanted a new truck. She wanted a fast little sports-like car so she could zip through traffic around town. He would probably have settled on any beat up old truck, but everything she seemed to like was way out of their price range. "Look!", she said,"I want something that goes from 0 to 200 in 4 seconds or less. And my birthday is coming up. You could surprise me"
For her birthday, he bought her a brand new bathroom scale.

Customer: I have a huge problem. A friend has placed a screen saver on my computer, but every time I move the mouse, it disappears!

Tech Support: "Okay Bob, let's press the control and escape keys at the same time. That brings up a task list in the middle of the screen. Now type the letter "P" to bring up the Program Manager."
Customer: I don't have a P
Tech Support: On your keyboard, Bob.
Customer: What do you mean?
Tech support: "P" ...on your keyboard, Bob.
Customer: I'M NOT GOING TO DO THAT!


A man went to church one night to hear the visiting faith healer preach. At the close of the service, he went forward. The evangelist asked, "What are you here for?" The man responded, "It's my hearing". The man of God put his hands over the man's ears and began to pray long and loud. The spirit of God came down and the man was slain in the spirit. When he finally got back up, the faith healer asked, "Well, how's your hearing now?" The man replied, "Well I don't know. It's not until next Thursday"!
